Privacy Policy

Xpenserbot ("we", "us") is a personal expense tracker you use by texting WhatsApp or through a web dashboard. This page explains what we collect, why, and how you can get it removed.

What we collect

• Account info — your name, email, and profile photo from Google Sign-In.
• WhatsApp number — only once you explicitly connect it via the "Connect WhatsApp" link in your dashboard Settings.
• Financial data you enter yourself — transactions, account/card names and balances, and recurring expenses you text us or type into the dashboard.
• Receipt/bill photos — if you send a photo on WhatsApp or use "Scan receipt" in the app, we send it to Google's Gemini API to read the amount, merchant, and category off it, then discard the photo. We never store the image itself.
• Billing info — if you subscribe to Plus, payment is handled entirely by Razorpay; we store only your subscription status, plan, and renewal dates, never your card or bank details.

What we never do

• We never link to your bank account or any Account Aggregator service.
• We never read your phone's SMS inbox or any messages beyond what you send us directly on WhatsApp.
• We never sell or share your data with advertisers or data brokers.

How your data is stored

Your data lives in Google Firestore, isolated per account — no user's data is ever mixed with another's. Only our backend server can read or write it; there is no public or shared access.

How we use WhatsApp messaging

We use the Meta WhatsApp Business Platform solely to receive the expense messages you send us and to reply — either directly, or (if you've enabled them) with periodic summary/reminder notifications you can turn off anytime from Settings.

Data deletion

You can permanently delete your account and everything in it — transactions, accounts, cards, budgets, recurring items, your linked WhatsApp number, and billing records — anytime, yourself, from the dashboard's Settings page (Danger Zone). This takes effect immediately; there's no recovery afterward. If you'd rather email us instead, write to xpenserbotadmin@gmail.com from the email address linked to your account with the subject "Delete my data" and we'll do it for you within 7 days.

You can also delete individual accounts, cards, recurring expenses, and transactions yourself anytime directly from the dashboard.

One narrow exception: if your account was ever eligible for our 7-day free trial, we keep your email address and the date the trial was granted in a separate record, indefinitely, solely to prevent the same email from claiming another free trial after deleting an account. This record contains nothing else about you and is never used for any other purpose.
